[Likha Ginhawa: Sadya] A Pagbubuo x Ugnayan wellbeing workshop on February 3
Sharing the first workshop of Likha Ginhawa, a shared journey to discover tools and practices for creative wellbeing
It’s the new year, and something about the turn of the year seems to make us want to usher in “a new self”. And we often make idealistic resolutions at the beginning of the year, then feel disappointed in ourselves when we’re unable to sustain it, especially when the busy-ness of our lives rushes back in, and we default to our usual habits.
I know the feeling of being stuck, blah or languishing, and recognizing that something needs to shift in your life. And I know what it’s like to rediscover your own joy, play and sense of self, and find people who can support you in unblocking your own flow. At different points in my life, I’ve found ways to use my strengths and skills in ways that are more nakakaginhawa for myself and others.
And so, two things I’m focusing attention to and sharing more of this 2024 are things I’ve learned and continue to learn about creativity and wellbeing.
Whether you consider yourself a “creative” or not, creativity is a uniquely human trait.1
We all have an urge to create, to express ourselves, to design our days and our lives.
Being able to live a creative life is essential to our wellbeing and growth.
We are all creative, if we open ourselves up to that possibility.
Creative living is not just for “creatives”
For me, living a “creative” life has brought joy in my days and vitality into my work.
I’m not an artist by profession, but expressing myself through writing, food, and from time to time, watercolor painting, have been life-giving for me. My work as a tagapagpadaloy — a facilitator and coach, for individuals and organizations — and as a writer, has only benefited from me having a creative practice. Having space for that allows me to tap into my creativity at work, have the courage to try things out, and learn in the process.
Furthermore, in the years of doing my own inner (and outer) work, I’ve learned that a life of wellbeing requires a holistic and purposeful look at how we’re currently leading our lives, and from there, intentionally and creatively crafting it moving forward.
And at this point, honestly, I still don’t think I’ve gotten everything down perfectly for myself, and perhaps I never will — because it’s not so much about a pursuit of perfection as it is about a pursuit of wellbeing and growth in the face of inevitable bloopers and blockers that come our way.
When I look back at the life, I’m grateful for my continuing commitment to the self-work, and to the community of support that I couldn’t have moved forward without.
Committing to creativity, wellbeing and growth
This month, I’m launching Likha Ginhawa, a shared journey to discover tools and practices for creative wellbeing.2
Likha is Tagalog for “create”, while Ginhawa is the closest translation for wellbeing in Tagalog.
It is intended as a personal and collective exploration, intentional grounding, and joyful pursuit of creativity, wellbeing and growth, however you define it for yourself.
We begin with the [Likha Ginhawa: Sadya] A Pagbubuo x Ugnayan wellbeing workshop, this coming February 3, 2024.
Likha Ginhawa: Sadya
Sadya, the first workshop in the Likha Ginhawa journey this year, is intended for a small group of 4-8 participants.
I share the Purpose (objectives/goals) and Practices (what we’ll be doing together) for the Likha Ginhawa: Sadya workshop below:
Purpose
To gain awareness on where you are now in the different areas of your wellbeing
To gain more clarity on your wellbeing goals and intentions in the coming year
To envision and plan your creative pathways to get there
* Just to be clear, this is not intended as a writing workshop or a watercolor painting workshop. While we might tap into our creativity at certain points, art skills are not required. Folks who don’t consider themselves “artists” are encouraged to join.

I define “creative wellbeing” here as the pursuit of wellbeing through creative practice, or creative practice as a pathway to wellbeing.
