Create space for Pagbubuo

Hi there, I’m Jen Horn.

Welcome to my public playground and living lab for some nerdery, reflections and rough drafts on creativity, wellbeing, and connection with self and kapwa (fellow beings — humans and nature).

Pagbubuo is a Tagalog word for a process of bringing together, integrating synthesizing, and making whole.

My posts are unashamedly rough, sometimes too long and rambly or ridden with disclaimers, but this is my brave, safe and emergent space for creation.

Read more about what “Pagbubuo” means to me below:

Some of my other recent-ish posts might also interest you, and give you an indication of where I’m currently heading with this publication — on my creativity, wellbeing and connection practices:

Through this space, I wanted to go on this journey of pagbubuo with you when we:

  • Explore. I wander and wonder about things I read, learn and experience in the spaces I move in, and invite you to go curiously on this journey with me.

  • Clarify. The reflection that happens here helps increase awareness and understanding within me, and I hope it also moves something within you. (And maybe you’ll come away with even more questions, and that’s okay!)

  • Share. Beyond sharing what I learn, I also write personal thoughts and feelings here, and I hope it provides a space for you to introspect and even challenge my thoughts and ideas too.

You’re free and welcome to:

  • Reply to newsletters

  • Leave comments on posts

  • Join gatherings I post about (best to follow my IG @pagbubuo for more immediate gathering announcements)

At the end of the day, I hope Pagbubuo reminds you to take intentional pauses to reflect on how you want to show up in the world, how you can bring more of your authentic self into it, and in your own way, contribute to changes we need to collectively make happen towards greater connection and wellbeing for all.

About me

I’m a tagapagpadaloy (facilitator), ICF-certified coach and writer who believes in the power of connection, authentic expression and community in weaving a more mindful, life-sustaining world. 🌊

From 2012 to 2021, I grew the @muni_ph community with a team of fellow advocates, through reflections, conversations, and creative collaborations for a more mindful, equitable and livable world. 🌱

Today, I channel that energy into creating experiences, tools and resources for connection with the self, kapwa and the planet, and cultivating community through @pagbubuo, @ugnayancards, @goodfoodcommunity, and as a coach-consultant for learning and transformation programs on wellbeing, leadership, sustainability and culture-building for non-profits and for-profits alike. 🕸️

Buo habang nagbubuo, I am currently training in Expressive Arts Facilitation with The Arts and Health Institute @magiscreative, and embodied transformation and somatic coaching with @coachesrising. 🐛

I completed my MSc in Sustainable Development from the University of Surrey on a @cheveningfcdo scholarship, and my BA in Psychology from De La Salle University. I’m also a certified human-centered coach with @harayacoaching and flow facilitafor with @goodgriefnetwork. ✨

Apart from the work things, I enjoy making stuff, trying new things, veggies, cat reels, otter reels, occasional attempts at pottery and painting, handwoven textiles, nature walks, witty banter, dark comedy, memes and dad jokes. (send me some!) 🙏
